Founded in 1998, Kali Environnement provides mission-critical environmental regulatory consulting, testing and compliance services to industrial clients across France.
The group operates through five complementary business lines covering the full life cycle of industrial sites: ICPE regulation compliance (regulated facilities for environmental protection), contaminated sites and soil management (SSP), air quality monitoring, biodiversity studies and water management. Today, Kali Environnement serves more than 1,000 industrial clients through a nationwide network of 15 offices and employs over 180 professionals, generating revenues of approximately €23 million, with 92% re-occurrence rate, driven by client relationships averaging 10+ years.
The company is positioned in a resilient and structurally growing market, driven by 100% mandatory regulatory missions and underpinned by increasingly stringent environmental regulations, industrial decarbonization initiatives, biodiversity protection requirements and contaminated site remediation activities. These long-term trends continue to support sustained demand for environmental regulatory consulting, compliance and monitoring services.
Kali Environnement also benefits from a highly fragmented market structure, providing significant consolidation opportunities. The group’s strategy is to build a leading environmental regulatory consulting platform in France through a combination of organic growth and targeted acquisitions. Having successfully completed three acquisitions under previous shareholder ownership, the company intends to accelerate its buy-and-build strategy to further strengthen its geographic footprint, broaden its technical expertise and expand its service offering.
Antoine Vigneron, Partner, and Hadrien Jourdan, Principal, at 21 Invest, commented: "Kali Environnement combines all the characteristics we look for in a platform investment: a leadership position in an attractive market, strong recurring revenues and substantial buy-and-build opportunities. We have been particularly impressed by the quality of the management team and the strength of the company’s positioning, which has made Kali Environnement a reference partner for industrial clients navigating an increasingly demanding regulatory environment. Together with Fabrice, Emmanuel and their teams, we look forward to supporting the next phase of growth and further strengthening the Group’s leadership”.
François Barbier, Managing Partner & CEO of 21 Invest, commented: "Kali Environnement exemplifies our ability to partner with high-quality businesses that align closely with our investment strategy and exacting selection criteria. It also reinforces 21 Invest’s enduring commitment to supporting mission-critical, impact-driven companies with international ambition. With this sixth investment, we continue the disciplined deployment of Fund VI and are confident with the quality of the portfolio we have built to date."
