Forno D’Asolo strengthens its product range and international distribution network with La Donatella.

Forno d’Asolo, a leading Italian producer and distributor of sweet and savory frozen pastry products, backed by 21 Investimenti, has acquired La Donatella, a major filled pastry and bakery product specialist.

Founded in 1946, La Donatella is a leading player in Italy in the production of filled pastries and bakery products, most notably Tiramisu. La Donatella is located in Venice, Italy and distributes its products through a network of agents and distributors focused on the food service channel.

In 2015, La Donatella exceeded €M 15 in sales, 30% of which was generated from foreign markets (namely the UK, USA, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

Including La Donatella, Forno d’Asolo, will see its annual sales surpass €M 100. The acquisition is part of the broader growth strategy in Italy and abroad, under the impulsion of 21 Investimenti, and provides a new line of products to further strengthen Forno d’Asolo’s national footprint and establish a greater international presence.

The acquisition of the 100% stake in La Donatella was entirely financed through cash available in Forno d’Asolo.
